Swedish Snus

Swedish snus and American Dip are probably the most well known forms in their respective countries and are beginning to become popular world wide as an alternative for smoking. Swedish snus is the oldest of the two moist smokeless tobacco products and the safest to use. Swedish snus comes in two varieties, loose snus and portion snus, and is made by taking tobacco leaves, that have been dried in the sun, and grinding them to fine pieces the size of a grain of sand. After grinding, the tobacco is placed in a large steam tumbler and cured for 24 hours. After curing, the unflavored snus is placed in flavoring vats with a variety of different flavors like Bergamot, Juniper, rose oil just to name a few and allowed to steep for up to a week. After flavoring, the snus is taken to the packaging floor and either placed in portion material and packaged or, placed in cans as loose snus.
